About Us

We offer continuity of education from age 4 to 11, enabling a smooth and happy transition from infants to juniors.   The school is currently in the process of changing from a half-form entry (15 pupils) to a one-form entry (30 pupils) admission per year group.  From September 2018 we will have over 160 children organised into six classes; Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and a combined Year 5/Year 6.

In 2020 we will expand to complete our transition and become a 7 class (one form entry, 30 pupils per year group) school, with Year 5 and Year 6 becoming separate, single year group classes.

We have a caring family atmosphere in which everyone knows everyone else and children are encouraged to develop good relationship skills and become more confident with all age groups.  We really value the opportunities we have to work closely with families and as teams across the school.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to be a school which provides excellent educational opportunities within the context of a happy family atmosphere rooted in Christian values. To achieve its aims, Flax Bourton Church of England Primary School will:

  • provide a safe, stimulating, caring environment for learning and play;
  • provide pupils with a balanced education covering the National Curriculum;
  • motivate pupils to achieve high standards in everything they do;
  • involve the parents in decisions on their child’s education.

Our pupils are encouraged:

  • to reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum;
  • to accept personal responsibility and to have respect for themselves and others;
  • to involve themselves fully in school life;
  • to enjoy their time at school.

Flax Bourton Church of England Primary School actively encourages the spiritual and social development of all its pupils.  Our approach and worship reflect the principles of the Church of England, to which we are linked at diocesan and parish levels.  We recognise and respect other religions.
